College of the Canyons is focusing on safety as 150 staff members took part in an emergency preparedness drill.
The simulation took participants through an active shooter situation where two campus officers with imitation paramilitary weapons stormed a classroom.
With the number of emergencies in schools seemingly on the rise, the college wants its students and staff to be prepared for such situations.
