State Water Board members unanimously approved changes to the chloride compliance requirements for the SCV Sanitation District Tuesday.

The Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation will be honored with COC’s prestigious Silver Spur award in 2015.

The City is hosting its annual Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim New Year’s Day at the aquatic center.

Friday night, The Vu in Newhall presents No Small Children – a band of “kick-a**, rockin’ chicks by night and schoolteachers by day,” according to their Facebook page.

Saturday at Wolf Creek Brewery off Rye Canyon Loop in Valencia, it’s the annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

And later Saturday night on SCVTV’s “House Blend,” it’s the premiere broadcast featuring award-winning blues band Chuck Strong and SRBQ. They won the SCV Blues Society’s recent Battle of the Bands and will represent the SCV in the International Blues Competition next month in Memphis.

 

Television viewers can catch the SCV NewsBreak on SCVTV at the top of every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., repeating the following morning at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
