Hart Robotics Team Makes World Championship for First Time in 10 Years

The William S. Hart High School Districts FRC Robotics Competition team has done what no other team has accomplished in 10 years.

The student-led team, Project 691, made it to the FRC World Championships in St. Louis Missouri this April 22 through 25.

Project 691 had only six weeks to complete a robot that could successfully stack and move bins.

The team found out about their acceptance through an email sent from the competition.

“When we found out we were excited, and I said ‘yeah we can do this!’,” said Tyler Arrowsmith, President of the FRC Robotics Team.

To be successful, Project 691 must send at least ten members halfway across the continent.

The group has set up a donation page online to help cover the costs of travel for team members and their families, hotel fees for the three-day competition and for the transport of their robot.

“We have raised about $1,100 already and our goal is $15,000,” said Jason Nichols, competition robot driver.
