What's Happening at the Clubhouses
|
Children, ages 7-17, enjoy a variety of stimulating and fun activities at the Canyon Country and Newhall clubhouses.
| | Education, Sports, Art Engages Club Kids
At the Newhall Clubhouse, Science Club kids are engaged on Wednesdays in projects supporting what they are learning in chemistry, biology, and geology.
Kids from both Clubhouses are enjoying soccer
season. For some it is their first exposure to organized soccer and
provides a good training ground for them to play in high school and on
travel club teams.
Employees from the local Union Bank
branches volunteered their time two Thursdays in September and October
cleaning and touching up paint at the Newhall Clubhouse. The kids thank
you for your efforts in beautifying our Clubhouse!
In October, Sierra Vista offered a College Planning Workshop that provided information on preparing for college financially and academically.
Kids in Sierra Vista's Art & Design Club are busy making holiday decorations for the Club while the Keystone Club held a car wash on Oct. 20.
Both Clubhouses will enjoy Thanksgiving
feasts this month. On Nov. 15, the Newhall Clubhouse will sponsor a
potluck with staff and Club families. Around 200 are expected to
participate. On Nov. 20, the 3rd annual dinner at the Sierra Vista site
will again be sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers
Association, headed by Don and Cheri Fleming. Salt Creek Grille will
cater the meal. The auto dealers and board members are expected to serve
400 people, which will include guests from Single Mothers Outreach. |
