Los Angeles County supervisors followed the County Registrar-Recorder’s suggestion not to move local elections to even-numbered years Tuesday; Newhall County Water District announced Monday that they filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the Castaic Lake Water Agency, claiming the rate increases adopted in February, were unfair.

As part of the Santa Clarita’s “Mormon helping hands” effort, nearly a thousand members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints donned their distinctive yellow volunteer vests and got to work last Saturday; This Friday, Canyon High School is hosting an event to support a school resource officer who is battling cancer; local weather.

Some talented local kids will be representing Santa Clarita in Washington, D.C at the Sister Cities International art and essay competition.
