Deputies, Businesses Brace for Crowd at Walker-Rodas Crash Site
Uploaded 12/07/2013 A steady stream of humanity has filtered through Valencia’s Rye Canyon Business Park ever since actor Paul Walker and racecar driver Roger Rodas lost their lives there one week ago. The crowd is expected to intensify as Sunday’s impromptu memorial service approaches. Deputies were out in force again Saturday, providing traffic control and patrolling the area. All businesses in the Kelly Johnson Parkway-Constellation Road area have cordoned off their parking lots, and most have hired private security guards to keep people out. Sunday’s memorial, slated for noon, isn’t sanctioned by the city of Santa Clarita, so there is no formal parking plan. The city and Sheriff’s Department advise residents to avoid the area.
