  • The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors appointed an Orange County Undersheriff John Scott as interim LA County Sheriff Tuesday afternoon. Scott will serve as a temporary replacement for Sheriff Lee Baca until the end of the year.
  • Castaic Elementary parents and students organized the second fundraiser to collect money for their damaged music classroom, which was trashed during Winter break.
  • Several free events happening at each of the Santa Clarita Public Library locations in the coming months are sure to attract more than just book lovers.
  • Prayer Angels for the Military is hosting a special packing event at the Old Town Newhall Library on February 9 to benefit local troops serving overseas.
  • Unseasonably warm weather continues in Santa Clarita, but cooler and possibly wetter weather is on the way.
