Sorry, didn’t realize FB comments posted to here as well. Didn’t mean to repeat post to this particular thread!

  2. The sad part is, these supposed “experts” are talking about this as if this is a recent trend in development. The woman (Cicerello) represents it’s been around for about 15 years while one of the men states this is a, “relatively new trend” while further stating “this was not real estate 20 or 30 years ago” following up with “this is kind of like, the new way real estate is happening”.

It’s mind blowing to think these people didn’t seem to do the slightest bit of research before speaking on a topic they knew they were going to discuss.

The actual state law is called, “The Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982″! By my count, that means it’s been a thorn in our side for 34 years. It was widely regarded as a way of bypassing Prop 13, which the liberals despised since it protected the people from being raped via property taxes.

If this is the info our local real estate and mortgage “experts” are sharing with the public, what other info are they slightly misinformed about? SCARY!

  3. It’s BS that’s what it is..

  4. Randy Thompson says:

Just as an addendum, the actual government code is named “The Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982”, so there’s not too much ambiguity as to how long the law has been around.

This is kind of frightening from a Real Estate & Mortgage “experts”. Calling this a “relatively new trend” and stating “this was not real estate 20 or 30 years ago” or further stating “this is kind of like, the new way real estate is happening”.

Hello? The “Community Facilities Act” (Mello-Roos) was enacted by the State Legislature in 1982! By my fuzzy math, that would appear to be 32 years ago! Mello-Roos properties have been haunting this valley for decades.

I find it hard to believe, knowing in advance they were going to be discussing this topic, not one of these “professionals” bothered to do even the slightest bit of research on the topic? Way to completely misinform the public!

  6. I know what it is and I won’t buy in a MR area.
