A Santa Clarita group opposed to the City’s billboard deal with Metro turned in a petition with more than 11,000 signatures to city officials Monday.

The Valencia Water Company wants its thousands of ratepayers to all pitch in to help meet Gov. Jerry Brown’s statewide goal of reducing water use by 20 percent.

Over 1,100 runners took part in the Wings for Life World Run Sunday morning in Santa Clarita.

Bill Lively and Cheryl Gray have spent countless hours and more than 20 years helping Santa Clarita Valley charities and nonprofit groups – they were honored as the 2014 SCV Man and Woman of the Year on Friday.

The Taste of the Town drew more than 2,500 people to Valencia’s Mann BioMedical Park Sunday for the Santa Clarita Valley Child and Family Center’s 26th annual fundraising event.
