Its all about the Almighty DollarSCV. Maybe SCV schools should become like LA Unified School District and have poor schooling then maybe yhey will approve Charter schools. GO CHARTER SCHOOLS.

  2. Charter (and private) schools are better environments for some children and they only make public schools better, or they should, by forcing the public schools to up their game. Everybody wins! My oldest child graduated from a local public high school because that is what SHE wanted to do. Now can we please let charters flourish and get vouchers, too, so that people (like me) who opt to send their children to private schools because that is what is best for THEM, can get their piece of the pie? One size does not fit all children but an educated child benefits all of society.

  3. I’m so happy I found SCVi charter school…I would have never settled for any of the traditional public schools out here.

  5. What???? That’s ridiculous !!! I would like to know if the district leaders have their kids in public or private schools?? I’m sure, most if not all have them in private schools! Some of us cant afford that. AEa Elementary the school my son attends offers a similar private school setting! (Smaller classes, great teachers, challenging curriculum) I don’t see why they are against great education to the next generation!

  6. I season my asparagus with a light dusting of salt & pepper

  7. My child is a smart kid and was falling behind and not motivated by public schools. He is finishing his first year at Albert Einstein (6th grade) and we can not believe the difference. He is doing homework without hassle. He is getting excellent grades, he is learning and cooperating with teachers rather than being at odds. I never would have imagined such positive changes. I am SOLD!!! I will have 3 kids there next year and never am I looking back. Moreover I am a card carrying union member. The teachers union in this state and all over this country need to take a second look at what they are about. It’s time for charter schools and it’s not for any reason except the success of all of our children. The tide has changed. If you are against charter schools you are fighting a losing battle. Save your time and money and our children! Do what is right support a better choice for your child. CHARTER SCHOOLS NOW!!

  8. Alicia Ellen Alicia Ellen says:

This is riduculous..it’s about their egos and money..not about a better education for our kids

  9. I have one child in a charter school, and one in a traditional school. Children learn differently and I appreciate the opportunity to send my kids to the schools that are right for each of them. I’m very disappointed that school districts have so little regard for the students and more for preserving a system that is failing many.

  10. Public school hasn’t significantly changed from its original purpose – to train people to work in a factory or join the military. If they want to keep kids in the public school system, then maybe they need to change the system rather than limiting a child’s options for a better education.

  11. Silvie Faust Silvie Faust says:

Why?? I think it’s great to have options this is where my kids might be going to…We choose were to go. This is why big Govt is bad.

  12. Bree Lazalde Bree Lazalde says:

That’s ridiculous. Parents have a right to choose, and charter schools are choices for families- students, parents and trained teachers

  13. Parents need options for their children. There are many options outside of this valley but why should we have to travel to get a quality education. It’s not a one size fits all! It’s based on individual needs!

  14. We should be allowed to choose where and how our children are educated. Please read what Marshall Tuck has to say, he is running for Superintendent – http://www.marshalltuck.com/Plan/parent-choice-in-public-schools

  15. Kim Rice Kim Rice says:

Why? It’s a choice for the parents. Freedom to choose please!!

  16. Why???? Without these alternatives, a lot of high school students will likely drop out!!! Think of the kids and not to tax money you get for each student who shows up everyday!!! This is way schools encourage kids to come to school sick, so they can get counted in as attending for the day….Then before you know it, half the school is sick with a virus!!! All students don’t learn the same way! Take it from me, the parent of a special ed student who left Saugus High and found a great charter school to help him thru graduation!!!

  17. Chris Hulse Chris Hulse says:

I say teachers do your job and teach!!!!!!! You know the ones I’m talking about the tenured one’s that don’t give to bits about the children, only their retirement!!!!! I say go go go ELBERT EINSTEIN SCHOOL OF LETTERS GO!!!!! Teach the other school districts to teach and be held accountable period!!!
