Family Promise SCV received a donation in the form of a new driveway at the house the organization refers to as home base on Saturday.

The home provides a place for homeless families to be during the day to fix meals, do laundry and look for jobs online.

“We are getting an awesome facelift thanks to donations,” said Laurie Ender, President of the Board of Directors for Family Promise. “We have really tried to be good neighbors in this community this just makes the front of the house look so much nicer.”

The house also serves as an resource center for the organization.

The home received a makeover two years ago courtesy of a landscape company but the driveway was in desperate need of restoration.

“Its like anything with your house, you just have your list of priorities and this was next on the list,” said Ender.

The driveway materials and labor were donated by local companies AV Equipment Rental, Local National Ready Mix and City of Santa Clarita’s Public Works department.
