A Los Angeles County Fire Department official says a victim accidentally shot himself at the Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall Friday afternoon. Detectives are investigating an assault as a possible hate crime that took place outside a Valencia restaurant Thursday. A 31-year-old Littlerock man was found guilty Friday in the deadly mauling of a Palmdale woman by a pack of pit bulls. The west nile virus has claimed its first Los Angeles County victim of the year. SCVTV’s coverage of High School Football begins tonight with the Saugus Centurions hosting the Simi Valley Pioneers at College of the Canyons. I responded to this call and treated the patient in the ambulance. A fellow shooter’s .44 mag cylinder exploded and the patient was hit on the ride side of the head. Even his ear protection was severely damaged. patient was OK and was very fortunate for how bad it could’ve been

The radio call may have gone out as a gunshot (which is what the press probably initially picked up on), but the mechanism of injury was frags from a blown revolver cylinder.

No one was shot. It was not a ricochet. A gun malfunctioned and a part hit the person next to the shooter. Not only does scvtv need to be more careful and accurate so do the people posting bad information on here.

There’s no such thing as an “accident” when a firearm is involved. A negligent discharge? Yes.
