A 71-year-old sex convicted offender from Valencia was sentenced to 12 years in state prison Wednesday for taking pictures of Santa Clarita Valley children without their consent.

Deputies are investigating a case of theft and vandalism at a Newhall preschool.

A Santa Clarita Valley veteran is set to receive a Quilt of Valor Thursday for his service.

Construction of six homes being built for local veterans and their families is set to begin Tuesday.

While putting about 150 miles a day on the wheels of his patrol SUV, Officer Eric Priessman of the California Highway Patrol talked to KHTS and SCVTV about a typical day during a ridealong Wednesday.
