Special : Dianne Curtis and Cheri Fleming
|
Community leaders and supporters attended Zonta’s 30th annual Tribute Dinner on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. This year’s Tribute honors two outstanding local women with global impact—Dianne Curtis and Cheri Fleming. Curtis is past president of Zonta International, and Fleming is the current president of Soroptimist International of the Americas. The two honorees have a lot in common besides their dynamic leadership skills. They are both wives, mothers, grandmothers, successful business owners in male dominated fields, dedicated volunteers, and leaders of global volunteer organizations that seek to improve the lives of women and have Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status with the United Nations. Professionally, Curtis is the owner and president of Canyon Bulk, Inc., a trucking and construction company, and Fleming is the dealer principal and owner of Valencia Acura. Through leadership in their two international organizations, both women have proven leadership working to improve the lives of women and girls around the world through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The annual Tribute dinner is the principal fundraiser for Zonta, a dynamic organization of women working together to advance the status of women through service, advocacy and awareness. Funds from the Tribute support Zonta service projects, scholarships and grants in the local community. Information about the event and about Zonta’s programs and awards are also available at www.scvzonta.org. (c) 2014 SCVTV |
Ok, great! I’ll pencil that in on my pientrd copy and try it out after I finish this other bonnet I am working on. I’m going to size up a couple of hook sizes and try to make it newborn size (baby #7 is due in June).
