A Saugus High School wood shop teacher has won the Stiles machinery contest and earned the school a new woodworking machine.

Assemblyman Scott Wilk has introduced legislation to name the Golden Valley Road Bridge in honor of “road warrior” Connie Worden-Roberts.

About 3,400 weapons were turned into rebar on Monday morning as part of the 22nd Annual Gun Melt.

Caltrans is planning to close sections of the 14 freeway from the I-5 to Sand Canyon Road this week for a pavement rehabilitation project.
