The weather outside may be frightful this Christmas for Santa Clarita residents, as temperatures are expected to drop to freezing on Friday evening.

The City of Santa Clarita and Waste Management are offering free curbside Christmas tree recycling through Jan. 9, 2016 for all residents located in the Santa Clarita city limits.

Santa Clarita City Hall will have special holiday hours through New Year’s Day.

Los Angeles County Animal Care Centers are offering to adopt dogs, cats and rabbits for special reduced prices this holiday season.

Television viewers can catch the SCV NewsBreak on SCVTV at the top of every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., repeating the following morning at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
