State Route 126 Reaches Significant Milestone

City and county leaders opened the new State Route 126 overpass, ushering in a new and improved era for traffic conditions on this highway.

Backups and bottlenecking have plagued the area where State Route 126 meets Commerce Center Drive, leaving commuters coming from Ventura and other northern areas stuck in long lines of traffic.

The area has also been an issue for first responders, but city and county officials are hoping the new overpass, which officially opens to drivers tomorrow, will improve traffic flow, reduce travel times, and provide easier access to the Valencia Commerce Center.

Cut traffic? Oh brother. This overpass is for the future 4000 units of Newhall Ranch, Mission Village phase 2. The one that’s on top of the oil field. It cost us tax payers $53 million and Newhall Land/Lennar Corp. paid nothing for it. Wish my business got deals like that.

If they wanted to help traffic, why didn’t they use that money to fix the miles and miles of cracked pavement on the I-5 and 405. This was just one more developer bene that you and I paid for.
