WiSH Foundation | Phone Call Makes WiSH Come True
The general manager of AutoNation Ford in Valencia, Chance Corbitt, asked the crowd gathered at the dealership for a drum roll and then announced the winner of a brand new Ford Fiesta valued at over $18,000.
Unfortunately the name called wasn’t in the audience. So Corbitt did the next best thing and called Raphael Castro.
“Congratulations, Mr. Castro. You won the car,” Chance said.
“Are you serious?” Mr. Castro said.
“I’m very serious.”
The car was donated by AutoNation to the WiSH Education Foundation to be raffled as a fundraiser. WiSH sold 966 raffle tickets through its website – WiSHscv.org – raising over $24,000 that will be used to fund programs and educational needs within the William S. Hart Union High School District.
The raffle tickets were placed in a hopper from which Chance drew Raphael Castro’s winning ticket.
In addition to the car donation, AutoNation has also partnered with the Hart School District on the brand new athletic trainer program that has placed dedicated professionals at each of the six comprehensive high schools overseeing athletic injury rehabilitation and return to play protocols.
