Eighth graders at Placerita Junior High school participated in Civil War Day on Wednesday, where re-enactors, demonstrations, and historically accurate artifacts make history come alive.

Students had a hands-on interaction to different aspects of Civil War era culture, from seeing traditional soldiers’ uniforms to seeing how fabrics and clothing were manufactured.

The history department at Placerita has put on Civil War Day for many years, hoping to give students a deeper understanding of the events.
