The WiSH Education Foundation honored distinguished alumni from the William S. Hart Union High School District in a special awards ceremony at CalArts.

The WiSH Education Foundation is proud to announce a new honoree added to their Distinguished Alumni Awards to be held on May 21 in the Modular Theater at California Institute of the Arts, beginning at 8 p.m.

Immediately following the show, attendees will proceed to the Superintendent’s Ball, which will be held in the Main Gallery with food, drinks, and entertainment.

The event’s format is modeled after Hollywood’s Academy Awards, and will be hosted by 104.3 My-FM ‘Valentine in the Morning’ host Sean Valentine. Tickets are $75 per person and available now atwww.WiSHscv.org.

Our newest honoree at this first annual event is Micah Ohlman, KTLA 5 News Anchor. He will be joining Dee Dee Myers, the first female Press Secretary to serve a U.S. President (Bill Clinton), who will receive the Dalbey Pioneer Award; C. Thomas Howell, actor, producer, and director; Shelby Jacobs, NASA Pioneer; John Bretthauer, COO and Executive VP, California Credit Union; Bruce Fortine, founding board member of College of the Canyons and current Board of Trustees President; and Gloria Mercado-Fortine, long time Governing Board Member, Wm. S. Hart School District and CEO, Global Education Solutions.

Former District teacher Dianna Lund will be awarded with the Distinguished Teacher Emeritus award and Clyde Smyth will be honored with the WiSH In Memoriam award for his service to the district.

Accepting on behalf of the Smyth family will be former California Assemblyman Cameron Smyth. Several Hollywood stars, including locally based comedian Mark Eddie, West Ranch parent Charlie Robinson, from “Mom” and  “Night Court”, and Richard Schiff,  from “The West Wing”, will be on hand to serve as presenters and performers.
