Statistics show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 33 men will be the victim of domestic violence. Sometimes bridging the gap between putting suspects in jail and helping survivors move forward can be challenging for law enforcement. About 60 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department recruits met with survivors at the Savia Center in Newhall Saturday night to hear personal stories that could help recruits have a deeper understanding as they move forward with their careers.
