SCV News | Sand Fire Day 4: More Than 30,000 Acres Scorched

High and rising temperatures as well as the potential for winds to increase were just a few elements firefighters were battling at the front lines of the Sand Fire on Monday. Winds were gusting out of the SouthWest at speeds up to 30 miles per hour and temperatures topping 105 degrees. The Sand Fire has burned 33,117 acres so far, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and remains at only 10 percent containment as of Monday afternoon. (c) 2016 SCVTV
