August 3, 2016: Shooting; Sand Fire Contained, Fright Fest Plans, 10 by 10

The suspect killed in a deputy-involved shooting in Castaic late Tuesday was identified as a 51-year-old homeless man.

The Sand Fire has finally seen its final flame. Fire officials announced the fire has been fully contained as of Wednesday morning.

Out of the fire does come some good news – three goats were reunited with their owner after they were evacuated without her knowledge.

For some, Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain is the best time of the year. The theme park recently released plans to up the scare factor this October to make it the “biggest and scariest in history.”

10 by 10 is back this Thursday and will be offering something for everyone.

Television viewers can catch the SCV NewsBreak on SCVTV at the top of every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., repeating the following morning at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
