August 10, 2016: Deputy Shayne York Memorial Highway, U.S. Olympics Swim ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Almost 19 years ago, Deputy Shayne York was shot during a robbery while he was off duty in a hair salon with his fiancé. A ceremony was held Wednesday morning to designate a Memorial Highway sign on the I-5 between Newhall Ranch Road and Hasley Canyon Road, as the Shayne York Memorial Highway.

A Canyon Country man has been sentenced to 100 years to life for murdering both his wife and sister in 2013.

Abbey Weitzeil, Anthony Erivn and the rest of the US Olympic Swim Team seem to be loose and having fun in Rio, having already won a combined 18 medals.

Don’t forget to buy tickets for the 20th annual Heart of the West dinner, auction and demonstration.
