COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS- Hey Sierra Vista, are you in need of some community service hours, or do you want to help others? This Saturday, at the Valencia Town Center, students can participate in “Project Linus” to help make blankets for traumatized and critically ill children. Please bring two or more yards of fleece or blanket-like material to the mall between 10am and 9pm to help. For more information, please see Mrs. Terranova in room 1002, or visit http://www.scvprojectlinus.org/ We hope to see you there!
Do you need community Service hours?  Or maybe you want tot do something to help others.  Project Linus is a program that donates handmade blankets to traumatized and critically ill children. Project Linus donates these blankets to several local non-profits like foster agencies, Domestic Violence, Henry Mayo, Michael Hoefflin Foundation, Mending Kids International, military families and many more. Project Linus Santa Clarita Chapter has a semi-annual “Make-a-Blanket Workshop” at Westfield Valencia Town Center, in front of Sears, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on October 8th, 2016.  Have students bring their own pieces of fleece. Instructions are given at the workshop and they can make as many blankets as they like. Have students bring their service hour sheets to be signed off.  You can access more info at http://www.scvprojectlinus.org.  Or, if you would like your school to have a Project Linus club, then please contact Sharon Garvar at SantaClarita.CA@projectlinus.org  or call (818) 648-3835.
Attention Step It Up fundraiser participants: Our Step It Up prize day is on Wednesday, October 19th. 8th graders will attend during A period, and 7th graders will attend during B period. In order for students to participate, they must have their parent/guardian sign a form, which you should have received from your “A” period teacher yesterday. Please turn this form into the ASB window ASAP because they are due Wednesday, 10/12. Students must turn in this form in order to participate in the prize day. FYI – students that sent out 10 or more emails and raised $30 still got to participate because we appreciated their efforts! Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 1002 if you have any questions.
