TODAY AT SIERRA VISTA
TEAM GOLD RUSH congratulates our Gold Medal Students of the week for the Week of October 17, 2016: Jarrett Reeser is a nice, polite, and happy student. He is diligent in his studies and very responsible with his assignments. Jarrett is well liked by his peers and always brings his positive attitude to the classroom. Well done! Michelle Valdez– Michelle consistently puts extra effort into her work, and she comes before or after class to ask her teachers questions and clarify instructions on her own time. She’s friendly and caring to those around her.

ADVANCED ART– Congratulations to the Advanced Art students for completing their outdoor chalk Mandala projects! “Mandala” is the Sanskrit word for “circle” and is a form of art stemming from Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Mandalas were often used as a spiritual teaching tool to help strengthen meditation and increase focus. The purpose of the mandala is to reflect on nature and the universe. Students worked hard all last week to create their mandalas on the ground next to the office building. Each group designed their mandala based on a chosen theme. Great job everyone!

ITS RAINING SOCKS– DFYIT Socktober Sock Drive is going on NOW….turn in NEW socks to room 402 and bring your community service hours sheet with you. We will have a turn in day this Friday at the outdoor stage and you can place your donations in the bin.
