College of the Canyons hosted hundreds of walkers and runners for the Domestic Violence Center’s fifth annual Purple Walk of Strength on Saturday morning.

The DVC of Santa Clarita hope to gain awareness about domestic violence and also raising money for different services that they offer, including therapy and an emergency shelter for clients.

Hundreds of Santa Clarita residents walked or ran through the trails behind College of the Canyons, while being smothered with purple powder to represent strength.
