Thousands Honor the Dead at Eternal Valley for Día De Los Muertos

People around Santa Clarita gathered to celebrate the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos last Saturday at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary.

The event was organized by Amber Martinez with Día de los Muertos SCV and The Latino Chamber of Commerce.

“I realized there was a need in cultural activities in the Santa Clarita Valley”, Martinez said. “So we teamed up with The Latino Chamber of Commerce and Eternal Valley and it gets bigger and bigger every year – I love it.”

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures.
