Around Town | Local Church Hosts Benefit Concert for Couple Who Lost Home in Sand Fire
|
Jan Sanborn and her husband Loren Janes, who suffers from Alzheimers, lost everything: memorabilia from Sanborn’s work as a musician and Janes work as a film stuntman to the very roof they shared. Yet in the face of such difficulty, Sanborn remains positive and hopeful. Such a perspective inspired her friend and former co-worker, Connie Woodson, Music Director at First Presbyterian Church in Newhall, to throw a benefit concert to help Sanborn and Janes in their time of need. The concert featured spiritual music from the church’s rock band, choir, and handbell group, but also showcased Sanborn’s work, including a medley filled entirely with songs from movies her husband appeared in.
