The Sulphur Springs Union School District “flipped the switch” and celebrated the installation of solar panels in nine different schools as well as their district office.

The district entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement with PFMG Solar, LLC to buy electricity at a fixed rate. The solar project is estimated to save the district approximately $7 million over the 25-year contract.

The schools with installed solar panels are:

• Canyon Springs Community School
• Fair Oaks Ranch Community School
• Golden Oak Community School
• Leona H. Cox Community School
• Mint Canyon Community School
• Mitchell Community Elementary School
• Pinetree Community School
• Sulphur Springs Community School
• Valley View Community School
