SIERRA VISTA NIGHT – Canyon High is having another Sierra Vista night on THIS Friday, January 20th! Just bring your Sierra Vista student I.D. card to the 5pm game for girls varsity basketball and/or the 6:30pm boys varsity basketball game, and you get in for free! See you there!

DEPUTIES OF THE WEEK – Team Rangers would like to congratulate our Deputies of the Week, Andres Luna, Sofia Cordova, Daphne Ramos, Matthew Allison & Daniel Ceja!! These students are always respectful to others, and are well liked by their peers and teachers. They all put forth 100% effort in all that they do, and they all exemplify the Rangers’ motto of Courage, Integrity & Perseverance! It is an honor to have Andres, Sofia, Daphne, Matthew & Daniel on Team Rangers!

COVER OF BINDER REMINDER – Are you a good photographer? We need new photos for the cover of the 2017-2018 Binder Reminder, and we want YOU to take them! What is “the best of Sierra Vista”? However you interpret that, you should take a photo of it–The BEST that our school has to offer. Visit sierravistalife.com to submit your photo. The deadline is this THIS Friday, January 20.

HONOR SOCIETY– Honor Society Applications are now available!!! If you are interested in applying for Spring Honor Society, then make sure you pick up a packet from Mrs. Fulleman in the Library before you head off for Winter Break. All Applications are due Friday February 3rd, 2017 by 2:30 pm (NO EXCEPTIONS)!!! If you have any questions, see Mrs. Marsh in room 106.

YEARBOOKS – We have extended our lowest price of the year for two more weeks for the 2017 Sierra Vista Yearbook. Buy your yearbook for only $60 at the ASB Window at brunch or lunch. The price goes up after January 27.

COMMUNITY SERVICE – Community Service Opportunity – We will be making Valentines for SVC’s Meals on Wheels TOMORROW, January 19th, from 2:15 until 3:00 in room 617. If you would like to help, please sign up with Mrs. Skoczylas in room 617 by lunch today. Thank you.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES – Today in clubs and activities the Rubix cube club will be meeting in room 401 at lunch. The CHS tutoring club will be meeting in the library after school. Finally DFYIT will be meeting in the MPR.

DFYIT – DFYIT meeting TODAY at 2:15. Meet in the MPR, then we will be having a dodge ball game to practice for the upcoming DFYIT Dodgeball tournament. If you are interested on being on the DFYIT dodgeball team, please make sure to attend today’s meeting!

SPRING DANCE – Hey, Sierra Vista student! ASB wants YOU to pick the dance theme you would like for the spring dance that’s coming up on Friday, February 10th from 2:30-4:30pm in the MPR. We have two themes for you to choose from:
1) “The Best of L.A. Dance” – which would include Hollywood sign, celebrity stars, city street art/graffiti, red “carpet” entrance, LA sports team logos decor.
2) “Valentine’s Day” – since the holiday comes four days after the dance, we have lots of red, pink, hearts, and love decor, but we would incorporate our creative ASB touch!

TRAILBLAZER STUDENTS OF THE WEEK – Congratulations to the Trailblazer Students of the Week, Molly Martinez Goyette and Matthew Heyne. Molly is an awesome student and such a pleasure to have in class. She is kind, respectful and always will to help other students. Matthew is an amazing young man and terrific student. He has a great sense of humor and is always respectful to others. We are fortunate to have both of them on our team!
