Omar Ayesh is polite, calm and kind-hearted. We can always count on Omar to be on task and finish his assignments with accuracy and great detail.
Andrea Vela is perfectly behaved and disciplined with completing her assignments. She’s always quietly focused and works well with others. We are very proud to call Andrea a Gold Rush team member.

BROWN BAG PRESENTATION- The Library is having a Brown Bag Presentation this week at lunch on Thursday, March 30th. We will have a professional musician, John Bergstrom, perform music from and about the Civil War. Mr. Bergstrom sings and plays guitar at the Gene Autry Museum in Los Angeles. You may eat your lunch in the library and enjoy the free snacks that we will provide. Ask your U.S. History teacher or guitar teacher for a free ticket. Ticket holders will be admitted first; additional students will be seated if space allows. SRC testing will be offered after school on this day until 2:30 p.m., due to the special event at lunch.

GOLDEN VALLEY ASB- Attention 8th graders that will be attending Golden Valley next year: ASB applications are available for pick up in room 1002. The applications need to be returned to the ASB window by Thursday, March 30th. Please understand that completing the application doesn’t mean that you have ASB as a course in 9th grade since the applications need to be processed. The list of accepted candidates will be posted on the Golden Valley website on Monday, April 17th.

ADVANCED ART- The deadline to turn in your Advanced Art application is this Friday! Come to room 1206 to pick up and drop off your application as soon as you can. Any 7th grader can apply. Don’t wait until the last minute- do it today!

BOX TOPS- We’re collecting Box Tops again this year. Containers are in the Team Leaders room. Box Tops will be collected at the end of each month. Students bringing in Box Tops with their name on the back of the Tops will be entered in a monthly drawing for ice cream passes so be sure to listen to the announcements to see if you won.

SAFE SCHOOL AMBASSADORS – It’s time to meet yet again! We hope to see you at the beginning of lunch in the MPR TODAY Wednesday, March 29th. As always, we appreciate your commitment to our campus. Thank you for all you do!

VIDEO GAME CLUB- Video Game Club meets this week on Thursday, 3/30, after school in room 101. New members are always welcome. Just make sure to stop by Mrs. Flaherty’s room for a permission slip to play games on the big screen and turn it in when you come to the meeting. Let’s go, gamers! :)

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES- Today in clubs and activities the Rubix Cube Club will be meeting in room 401, the Yo-Yoers Club will be meeting in room 902, and the Tutor Chess Club will be meeting in room 1001. All these clubs will be meeting at lunch. Also, the Canyon High tutors will be in the library after school. Mrs. Mowry’s reading and writing workshop will be meeting from 2:15- 3:15. Finally there will be a March Madness tournament at lunch.
