May 2, 2017: Hart District Schools Honored; City Seal Reinterpretations; More

A car carrier fell about 200 feet down an Agua Dulce embankment Tuesday morning, shutting down Highway 14 traffic for a few hours.

Four high schools in the William S. Hart Union High School district were honored with distinctions from the annual U.S. News and World Report “Best High Schools” rankings.

City officials, representatives from the Public Works and Caltrans, and community members gathered to break ground on the Newhall Ranch Road Bridge Widening project.

The Santa Clarita Arts and Events Office is seeking artists for the 30th anniversary art exhibit to reinterpret or create an art piece inspired by the city seal.

Tuesday’s conditions heated up, with temperatures reaching the low 90s.
