Thousands Support Spinal Cord Research During Wings For Life World Run in SCV

With 6 winners from various 2016 Wings For Life World Run locations choosing to compete in Santa Clarita this year the competition was fierce, but the real spotlight was on the community, and the unity. Running for those who can’t, thousands of runners, walkers and wheelchair racers toed the line on a chilly and wet morning at 4am in a show of resilience and dedication to the cause of finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Wheelchair Racers Tiphany Adams and Dominic Corradin earned the female and male wheelchair 1st places respectively, Nathalie Vasseur (FR) took home 1st place for female runners, completing 35.57miles before the Catcher Car zoomed past and Golden, CO based runner Dan Berteletti blitzed the men’s field, taking 1st male runner with a course record of 42.87miles.

In an incredible feat of strength and perseverance, Wheelchair participant Aron Anderson (SWE) raced 57.25 miles in Dubai to become Men’s Global Champion.

With over 155,000 worldwide participants and over $7.4 million raised for the Wings For Life Foundation, 2017 sees the most successful Wings For Life World Run to date, and a huge step forward for spinal cord injury and cure.
