Kids young and old appeared to have a good time Saturday at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center’s annual open house.

Hosted by the Placerita Canyon Nature Center Associates in conjunction with L.A. County Parks and Rec, the event featured animals, gold panning, face painting, more animals, rock painting, star gazing (well, the sun is a star), music, food, guided tours, vendor display booths and even more animals.

The Placerita Nature Center is located a half-mile east of the 14 Freeway on Placerita Canyon Road.
