L.A. County Fire officials battled three small fires along Highway 14 from Agua Dulce to Newhall.

The United States filed a civil complaint to nationwide arts and crafts store Hobby Lobby to forfeit thousands of looted artifacts.

County officials are considering a move that would increase the number of dogs allowed in one household without a special permit.

The National Weather Service and the L.A. County Health Department of Public Health have both issued excessive heat warnings for the Santa Clarita Valley and many other Southern California residents.
