|
Our Langley Research Center officially celebrated its 100th anniversary on July 17. Groundbreaking took place on that date in 1917, for what is now known as Building 587 – the first aeronautical research laboratory erected in 1918 for NASA’s predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). The establishment of Langley – NASA’s first field center – marked the start of our quest to achieve aerospace excellence through the scientific study of flight. Also, ISS Research & Development Conference, Next Station Crew Heads to Launch Site, Electrons Whistle in Space, and Mars Day! (c)2017 NASA | SCVTV
