SCV News | Local Activists Protest Water Agency Merger Bill
|
The proposed bill would reorganize the Newhall County Water District and the Castaic Lake Water Agency into the Santa Clarita Valley Water District. The bill would generally specify the powers and purposes, as well as the boundaries, of the Santa Clarita Valley Water District and would provide that the purpose of the district is to provide, sell, manage, and deliver surface water, groundwater, and recycled water at retail or wholesale within the district’s territory. The bill would prescribe the composition of the board of directors of the district. 2017(c) SCVTV |

bobd4343@yahoo.com Were dose LACO water dict. Come into affect ? they are never talked about, my question is why have three water co. in the vally?
A few clarifications: it was 14 of 15 board members who supported the bill; the only dissenting water official was the lady on the tape. Also, District 36 is within the footprint, and will be served by, the new agency and as such will have the ability to vote on 1/3 of the new board.
