COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES – Here’s another community service opportunity. Would you like to help the homeless of our Santa Clarita Valley? You could earn up to 10 service hours with “Family Promise of SCV” Box City fundraising event. It will take place on October 7th and 8th in Heritage Park in Valencia. Registration is online at The entry fee is $25.00 which also gets you a t-shirt. See Mrs. Fulleman at the SV Library if you have any questions.
Here’s a new opportunity.  Project Linus is a non-profit organization that makes blankets for donation to children’s hospitals and shelters. On Saturday October 7th, Academy of the Canyons students are hosting a “”Make a Blanket Day at Golden Valley High School during the hours of 10am-9pm.  Please note that junior high students must have a parent with them.  Project Linus has delivered over 6,559,984 blankets since 1995 and you can help make that number grow on October 7th, just in time to help the homeless during the cold winter months.  For more information and to sign up, please see the link here.
