Decorations, Prepping Begins for Annual ‘Festival of Trees’

Volunteers and club members were on hand to help begin decorations for the upcoming Festival of Trees presented by the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.

Festival of Trees runs from November 16 to the 19th as proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club.

Here is info regarding the events held during Festival of Trees:

Fun for the Whole Family
Festival of Trees Co-Chairs G. Marshall and Kathleen Hann are planning something for everyone at the festival. Children will find a variety of fun crafts and activities in the Kid’s Corner and can take a photo with Santa Claus (additional activity ticket required). View trees while dancing the night away on Thursday, November 16 at the Jingle Jam Swing Dance. See up close and personal, as well as on stage, magic at the Holiday Hocus Pocus on Friday, November 17 (Tickets $10).

Check the festival schedule at www.scvbgc.org for all dates and times. Singers, musicians, dancers and more will be featured on the stage throughout the festival, and strolling magicians will be on hand to dazzle the crowd with some amazing tricks.

Toy Drive
Bring an unwrapped toy valued at $25 or more to the Festival and receive a ticket to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Toys will be distributed to children and teens of the Boys & Girls Club of SCV this holiday season. Santa himself will visit Club children and he needs your help filling his bag. Gifts for children 7 years and older preferred. The number of tickets is limited and good for early 2018.

Magic of the Lights Gala
Join us on the evening of Saturday, November 18 for the premier festival event hosted by Co-Chairs G. Marshall and Kathleen Hann. The event will feature a reception, entertainment, a live auction of select trees and vignettes, hors d’oeuvres, dessert and a no-host bar. Tickets are $75 with various table and sponsorship opportunities available. Visit www.scvbgc.org to purchase your ticket in advance.

Holiday Boutique
Inside the festival you’ll find a holiday boutique presented by Cottage Lane Festivals. The boutique features booths with handmade crafts, fashion jewelry and accessories, clothing, food, gifts, holiday decor and much more.

Founded in 1968, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley provides 1,700 local young people ages 7-17 with programs that provide a safe and supportive environment, support academic success, create healthy lifestyles, and develops character and leadership.

Membership is just $60 a year for the first child and $45 for each additional sibling (scholarships available). The club’s mission is to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.” Visit www.scvbgc.org to learn more ways to support the Club and how to enroll your child.
