A deputy who was shot in the neck Tuesday night in Newhall while responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call was released from the hospital this morning.

Los Angeles County firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire on Highway 14 early Wednesday afternoon.

Recreational marijuana sales in Santa Clarita will still be prohibited in January.

Charles Helmers Elementary School was the grand prize winner of the city of Santa Clarita’s “30 things for 30 years” contest.
