A deputy who was shot in the neck Tuesday night in Newhall while responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call was released from the hospital this morning.

Los Angeles County firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire on Highway 14 early Wednesday afternoon.

Recreational marijuana sales in Santa Clarita will still be prohibited in January.
