CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES – Today in clubs and activities we have the metal fusion club in room 902 and writers club in room 102.

ART CONTEST – Calling all Artists!!! Time is running out to enter your artwork into the “One Family, Many Communities” art contest! Entries are due by this Friday.  Come to room 1206 at brunch or lunch and see Mrs. Etienne for help, art supplies, and entry forms.  There’s no time to wait!  Show off your artistic talent and enter now!

VIDEO GAME CLUB – Video Gamers are welcome to come to our first Video Game Club meeting of the new year in room 101 after school until 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 1. We have an Xbox 360 with a variety of games to choose from for group play, or you can bring your own handhelds or phones to play as well. New permission slips will be issued, and we will discuss our plan for the upcoming Club Rush event. Come one, come all and game on!

GOLD RUSH STUDENTS OF THE MONTH – Team Gold Rush would like to honor four students for January’s Student of the Month! Tanner Miele Sky Huang, Reagan Evans, and Ryan Lebetsamer. Tanner is an excellent student who is always willing to participate in class discussion, share his great sense of humor and excels in all subjects. Sky is a dedicated student who works above and beyond expectations, excels in all subjects, and is kind to all her peers. Reagan is a kind and attentive student who advocates for herself, pursues excellence in everything she does, and is kind and helpful to those around her. And finally, Ryan is a fantastic student whose writing has improved tremendously this year, has a strong work ethic, and a great sense of humor that entertains teachers and students! Thank you for being excellent representatives of Team Gold Rush!

DFYinSCV – Thursday is DFYinSCV’s lunch meeting for February.  We will be planning next month’s X-Week.  Anyone who attends Thursday’s meeting will be getting a free prize!! See you Thursday in the MPR at lunch!

TRAILBLAZER STUDENTS OF THE WEEK – Congratulations Trailblazer Students of the Week, Stephanie Zepeda and Edgar Garcia.  Stephanie is an amazing student and person.  She is kind, respectful, and always willing to help others.  Edgar is polite, cooperative and motivated. He always tries his best in class and has such a positive attitude.  We feel very fortunate to have both of them on our team.

THANK YOU FROM ASB – ASB wanted to thank the students that took the time to vote for the spring dance theme. The votes are in and the dance theme for our February 23rd dance will be….(I WILL ADD THIS LATER IN THE DAY AS MORE VOTES COME IN – SO I WILL EDIT THIS BEFORE YOU RECORD AFTER SCHOOL TODAY).
