BATTLE – It’s finally here! The 2017-2018 Lip Sync battle for reaching our school-wide goal for our fall Popcornopolis fundraiser will be on Tuesday, April 24th. The battle will take place at the outdoor stage at the beginning of lunch. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to see your teachers put on an epic performance that everyone will be talking about for years to come!

STAFF VS. STUDENT SOFTBALL TEAM – Attention 8th Graders! Thursday and Friday, April 26th and 27th will be tryouts for our 4th annual Staff vs. Student Softball team. Tryouts will take place after school on the field by the long jump pit. If you cannot attend both days please come see Mrs. Hatfield or Ms. Bregger.

CAREER & COLLEGE READINESS – We have an exciting opportunity for our 8th graders entering high school this fall! The Career and College Readiness Department will be offering pathway courses this summer in Business, Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality Careers and also Animal Sciences. Courses will run Mon-Fri from July 2nd-July 30th. Please come see us in the counseling office for more details!

SPIRIT DAY ACTIVITY – Come out during lunch on Thursday, April 26 for a spirit day activity. ASB is having a relay race out on the Quad. Come in a group of 3-4 people to play as a team, or just show up to take part in the fun. There will be a baton that you will pass to the other person. Also, if your matching with a friend, come spin the spirit wheel for a chance to earn a prize. Can’t wait to see you there!

SPIRIT WEEK – Hey Sierra Vista, today is Tourist Tuesday! ASB will give candy to those dressed up like a tacky tourist during D and E periods! Also, tomorrow is Jersey Wednesday. Make sure to wear your favorite team’s jersey!

PENNY WARS – Hey Sierra Vista, our FINAL turn in day for Penny Wars is Thursday, April 26th, during brunch in the quad. Don’t forget that: pennies are NEGATIVE points and silver change/bills/checks/ and online donations are POSITIVE points. Checks should be made to the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society” with the team name written on the check. The team that earns the most positive points per student gets a pizza party!!! Keep collecting that change!

MAGIC MOUNTAIN TRIP – The 8th grade Magic Mountain trip is Wednesday, May 30th. Information packets and permission slips are now available at the ASB Window, and tickets are now on sale. Ticket prices are $55 for regular admission, but only $20 if you own a current season pass. Your ticket includes a t-shirt, transportation, and admission to the park. The last day to purchase a ticket is Friday, May 4th, but don’t wait until the last day because the line will be extremely long. When purchasing a ticket, please have your ID card, and make sure you’re not on the library or demerit LOP list. Season pass holders must show their pass when they purchase their ticket.
