X WEEK – X week is here, Sierra Vista! Come out the quad today and Friday for fun activities, brought to you by DFYinSCV. We look forward to seeing everyone participating and representing being drug free!

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL – Do you walk, skate, or bike to school? The City of Santa Clarita wants to know how to make your walking or riding path to school safer. Come visit the Safe Routes to School team in the quad on Wednesday, May 2, to participate in a brief survey. Students who participated will be entered in a drawing for a new bike and helmet!

MAGIC MOUNTAIN TRIP – The 8th grade Magic Mountain trip is Wednesday, May 30th. Information packets and permission slips are now available at the ASB Window, and tickets are now on sale. Ticket prices are $55 for regular admission, but only $20 if you own a current season pass. Your ticket includes a t-shirt, transportation, and admission to the park. The last day to purchase a ticket is Friday, May 4th, but don’t wait until the last day because the line will be extremely long. When purchasing a ticket, please have your ID card, and make sure you’re not on the library or demerit LOP list. Season pass holders must show their pass when they purchase their ticket.

CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENTS – On Wednesday, May 2, the library will be closed all day due to the Civil War Re-enactments taking place every period. We apologize for the inconvenience. The library will re-open for full services on Thursday.

NEON NIGHT – Sierra Vista’s “Neon Night” black light dance will be next Friday, May 11th in the MPR from 2:30-4:30. This is our last dance of the year, so don’t miss out! The LA Donut truck will be there, serving delicious doughnut sundaes. Tickets are sold at the ASB window starting Monday, May 7th, for the following prices:

STAR WARS SPIRIT DAY – On May Fourth, ASB is having a “May the Fourth” spirit day. Come out to the Quad at lunch to play a Star Wars trivia game and memory match game. If you win, you get a piece of candy. We will also have Fun Friday games like Giant Jenga, hula hoops and much more in the quad as well. Hope to see you there!

STAFF VS STUDENT SOFTBALL – Attention Staff vs. Student Softball Team. There is a MANDATORY meeting this Thursday, May 3rd at lunch in the fitness center. You must attend to be eligible to play. If you have any questions or concerns please see Mrs. Hatfield or Ms. Bregger.

CANYON HIGH MUSICAL – Canyon High School Theater presents the musical Oklahoma! Set in Oklahoma Territory in 1906, it tells the story of farm girl Laurey and her courtship by two rival suitors, cowboy Curly and the sinister and frightening farmhand Jud. Come and see this romantic and adventurous musical May 3rd through 5th at the Canyon High Performing Arts Center. The ticket price is $8.00.
