Spirit Week: This week is spirit week. If you’re wearing your PJs today, come out to the quad at brunch to spin the spirit wheel to win a prize. Tomorrow, wear your favorite flannel. ASB will be coming around to give participants candy during “B” and “C” period classes.

Safe School Ambassadors: Attention all Safe School Ambassadors! Our first regular meeting will be today in the MPR at lunch. Please bring your food with you so we can get started right away. You will be introduced to your Family Groups and Family Group Leaders as well as finding out about the Power of One! Thank you in advance for showing up and participating.

Gold Rush and Trailblazers: Attention all Gold Rush and Trailblazers students that donated during the “Let’s Do This” fundraiser: the pizza party for 7th and 8th grade teams is tomorrow during lunch. Gold Rush students will be receiving their pizza in room 1204, and Trailblazers will get their pizza in room 103, but please remember, only students that acquired donations get to participate.

Plainsmen Progress Day: Tomorrow is Plainsmen Progress day from 1:10 – 2:10 in your teachers’ classrooms. The end of the quarter is Friday, October 19th, so if you have any missing assignments, please use this opportunity to help yourself out.

Cancer Awareness MONTH: October is Cancer Awareness MONTH, and Sierra Vista has teamed up with LEE Denim Jeans in support of Cancer research! Mrs. Marsh and Mrs. Henry will be collecting minimum donations of $5 from anyone who wants to support this worthy cause today. Please go to Mrs. Marsh in room 106 or Mrs. Henry in room 305. Each donation comes with a pink bracelet, and all money raised from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society!  

Popcornopolis: It’s Popcornopolis time!! We are selling delicious popcorn for money. We will be using this money for materials to use in your classes. Popcornopolis starts today! You will receive your order form and instructions in your math class. The top selling teams in 7th and 8th will receive spirit points. The top 50 sellers will receive a pizza party. If we meet our school goal, Mr. Zelienga, Mr. De la Cruz, Mr. Harper, and Mr. Hagan will participate with the students in a water balloon blow out! We have zebra, kettle corn, jalapeno, white cheddar, caramel and this year, we are selling a new flavor, the delicious PUMPKIN SPICE! Please see your math teacher if you have any questions.
