Winter Dance: The “Masquerade” winter dance will be taking place on Friday, December 7th, from 5- 7:30 pm in the MPR. Tickets go on sale Monday, and will cost $15 on Monday and Tuesday, then prices go up to $20 for Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday. Tickets include dinner from Stonefire, DJ, games, hot chocolate bar, outdoor movie, and more! This dance ALWAYS sells out, so don’t wait to purchase your ticket. Party Pack members are already on the list to attend the dance, so they don’t need to purchase a ticket. Dress guidelines for the dance have been posted around campus, so please view them BEFORE you purchase any dance attire. Students cannot purchase a ticket if they are on the LOP list, and they must stay for the entire dance for safety reasons. Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 1002 if you have any questions.
Thirst Project: DFY in SCV is still collecting recyclables for the Thirst Project in room 305. We will continue to collect until December 14th. Thank you to everyone who has contributed already!
Poster Contest: Hey Sierra Vista students. Remember those awesome posters that were in the top ten of the 8th Grade Poster Contest? Well, if you’ve noticed those winning designs missing from the SV library, that’s because they’re on display at our local Canyon Country Public Library in the teen room! Stop by the public library to see our students’ work showcased in the community. They will be there until Friday, December 7th.
November Birthdays: Hey Plainsmen! If your birthday is in November, come to the Outdoor Stage this Friday with your ID card to receive a cookie.
Fun Friday: Come out to the quad for Fun Friday. We will have “Fishing Friday” in which participants use a magnetic fishing pole to catch a snowflake. Come out for a great fetch and get some candy!
Safe School Ambassadors: Safe School Ambassadors our next meeting is Tuesday, December 4th at lunch in the MPR. We will be discussing action logs, potluck celebration food and drink sign-ups along with a few other topics. Please arrive asap with your lunch so we can get started right away. Can’t make the meeting? Feel free to see, e-mail or Remind message Mrs. Flaherty or Mr. Drabinski, and we will get you caught up. Thanks again for all you are doing to keep our school a safer place!
Concrete Poetry Painting: Don’t forget to sign up for Mrs. Flaherty’s Concrete Poetry Painting class on December 6th from 2:15-3:15 p.m. in room 802. All supplies will be provided for free! If you are interested, please see Mrs. Knolls in the counseling office ASAP for a ticket; first come, first serve with only 34 spots available! You get to pick what you write about and what image you paint, so it could be just for you to hang in your room or you could make it as a gift for a family member this holiday season. Come join us, and we promise you will have fun!
Honor Society: Attention ALL 7th & 8th Grade students who are interested in applying for the SPRING 2019 Semester of Honor Society…the ONLINE application will be available on the Honor Society Website starting Dec 7th, 2018, and it is due no later than FEB 1st @2:30 pm. Also, all Honor Society students MUST submit 10 hours of community service when submitting the application, so you should start volunteering/earning hours NOW!
