Christmas Season Arrives at Heritage Junction
Uploaded 12/01/2018 It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas Saturday at Heritage Junction where the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society hosted its 37th annual Christmas Open House. The event opened with Father Craig from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church conducting a Blessing of the Animals at the Ramona Chapel, followed by caroling from the Canyon High School Madrigals at the 1887 Saugus Train Station, the duo of Beth Shemely and Marc Cornelius performing on the porch of the 1878 Kingsburry House, and tours of the historic homes, all decked out for the holidays by the Questers. Crafts for kids, photos with the vintage 1900 steam locomotive from actor Gene Autry’s collection, and a special visit from Santa Claus rounded out the day. Heritage Junction is located inside William S. Hart Park in Newhall. It is open for tours Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. (Note: Holiday closures coming in late December.)
