Jim Ventress became involved in the Salesian Boys & Girls Club in Los Angeles in 1977, working part-time and only expecting to be there for one year. However, that one year turned into over 30 years of service to the Boys & Girls Club of America, as Jim eventually moved to the Santa Clarita Valley and became the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, a position he held for 29 of those 37 years of service.

During his tenure, Jim took the Santa Clarita Valley Club through the construction of two Clubhouses, hundreds of fundraisers, and the rise of youth programs, all while touching the lives of thousands of local kids.

This is Jim’s story.

In celebration of the Boys and Girls Club of SCV’s 50th Anniversary, we will highlight different people connected to the local chapter, from past employees to alumni and current members. They will share their memories of their time in the Club as well as look ahead to where they hope the Club will be in the next 50 years.
