U.S. Representative Katie Hill Sworn in to 116th Congress

Rep. Katie Hill, D-Santa Clarita, was sworn-in on Thursday, January 3, 2018, taking the oath of office for the 116th Congress.

“I’m really, really excited,” Hill said in a video posted to her Twitter account on Thursday.

“It’s a serious day though [because] the first order of business once we get sworn-in is literally to try and reopen the government. We have a package that we’re going to pass that the Senate should definitely be able to support that would reopen the vast majority of the government.”

Hill was sworn in by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, who was also voted in as Speaker of the House on Thursday.

Hill represents California’s 25th district, which includes the communities of the Antelope, Simi, and Santa Clarita valleys.
